In 2015, I enrolled on the two-year extended level 3 diploma in Coaching, Development Sport & Fitness delivered by Arsenal in the Community. This course provided me with the best start to my coaching journey, through the supervision of CPDs twice a week by UEFA A license coaches, in-class learning, and coaching local primary school children.
In 2016, whilst on the course, I joined Tufnell Park Football School, now called London Football School. My journey here lasted until the summer of 2021 which saw me coach from young as U4s up to U16s. From 2016 to 2020, I specialised in coaching our advanced group (U6 – U8) which were players we deemed could play at the academy level. This is where I got to refine my knowledge on developing players individually to be the best technicians they can be, whilst teaching them the game itself.
From these five years, many players went on to have trials and training at the development centres of clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea Crystal Palace, and Watford. Two players in the most recent seasons are currently part of the U9 squad at Arsenal girl’s academy, and one player is currently signed with Cambridge United U9s.
Since September 2021, I began coaching at one of the Arsenals regional development centres for the boy’s pre-academy helping players develop so they can reach the level required at the elite centre based at Hale end. Since March 2022, I am now solely based at Hale End coaching the elite U7 group, helping best prepare those players for when they become U8s and giving them the highest level of detail. Alongside this, I have been an assistant and am now head coach with the Arsenals Girls Academy, coaching the U10 group in 2021/22 and now and am Lead Coach for the U11 age group in the 2022/23 Season.
